Providing adoption home studies for Arkansas

An adoption home study in Arkansas is a required evaluation of a prospective parent or parents to make sure they can provide a safe, stable, and loving home for a child before an adoption can move forward.
I have years of experience providing caring, compasionate, unbiased, and above all, fair home visits.
I am a licensed social worker that conducts the home study (also called an adoptive home inquiry) for the Arkansas Department of Human Services or a private agency.
I will interview you and household members, inspect your home, and gather documentation; then write a formal report that is used in the review for approval of your adoption.
The process can also involves additional documentation, including background checks or personal references, which I would collect and review to determine if it would help in the process.
Once approved, an Arkansas adoption home study is valid for about one year. It is legally required before a child can be placed with you, and many agencies require you to be “home‑study ready.”
My name is Kimberly “Kym” Palmer. Born in Arkansas, raised all over the world as a military brat I returned back as prodigal daughter to Arkansas to graduate University of Arkansas at Little Rock. I started Kindred Spirits Adoption Services , because inviting someone into your home and sharing your personal information can be very intimidating. I want to put you at ease and allow you to focus on simply creating your family. Adopting can be exciting, highly emotional, and intimidating at the same time. I have been there!
